Café Mambo: Sunset on the Sant Antoni Strip
Café Mambo is one of Ibiza's most famous sunset venues, on the rocky seafront of Sant Antoni de Portmany on the island's west coast. It sits on the stretch known as the Sunset Strip, right next to Café del Mar, and for many visitors watching the sun go down here, with a DJ playing and a drink in hand, is a highlight of their trip.
Mambo has a bigger party reputation than some of its neighbours. On summer evenings its DJs build the mood as the sun sets, and it has long hosted pre-parties for Ibiza's big clubs.
What to Expect
The terrace looks straight out over the bay towards the setting sun. Tables and the front row fill up well before sunset in high season, while people also gather on the rocks and along the promenade outside. As well as drinks, there is a restaurant serving food through the day and evening. Expect Ibiza prices, particularly for cocktails and reserved tables.
Tips for Visiting
- Book a table in advance if you want a seat with a view at sunset, especially in July and August.
- Arrive at least an hour before sunset if you have not booked.
- Check the event calendar for special sunset sessions and club pre-parties.
- Walk along the strip before or after to compare the atmosphere at Café del Mar and the other bars.
Getting There
Café Mambo is on Carrer Vara de Rey in Sant Antoni, a short walk from the town centre and the West End. From Ibiza Town it is about 20 to 25 minutes by car, and regular buses run between the two towns.
