Things to Do in Ibiza
35 things to do in Ibiza
Ibiza is two islands sharing one coastline. There is the one the world knows, where superclubs run until sunrise and sunset is a ticketed event, and there is the older one of walled towns, pine-backed coves, hilltop churches and hippy markets. The best trips here make room for both, and on an island this small you can move between them in the same day.
Start in Ibiza Town. Dalt Vila, the UNESCO-listed walled old town, climbs above the harbour, and the Puig des Molins Necropolis, one of the Mediterranean's great Phoenician burial grounds, is a short walk away. Across the port in Marina Botafoch, Lío Ibiza turns dinner into a cabaret, while Pacha Club Ibiza and Chinois Ibiza keep the harbour busy after midnight.
South of town, Playa D'en Bossa is the clubbing strip: Ushuaia and Hï Ibiza face each other across the road, with Nassau Beach Club on the sand nearby. Keep going and the land gives way to Ses Salines Natural Park, where flamingos feed in the salt pans, Ses Salines Beach draws the stylish crowd and Experimental Beach Ibiza catches the sunset. DC-10 Ibiza, home of Circoloco, sits on the same road beside the airport runway, and Blue Marlin Ibiza holds court at Cala Jondal.
The west coast is sunset country. In Sant Antoni, Cafe Del Mar and Café Mambo Ibiza line the Sunset Strip, O Beach Ibiza runs pool parties by day, and Eden Ibiza and Es Paradís Ibiza take over at night. Cala Comte, Cala Bassa and Cala Salada are among the island's clearest coves, and further south Cala d'Hort, Torre des Savinar and the Sa Pedrera de Cala d'Hort (Atlantis) quarry all look out at Es Vedrà.
Inland and to the north, the pace drops. Amnesia and UNVRS Ibiza anchor Sant Rafel, Santa Gertrudis de Fruitera and Puig de Missa show off village life, the Punta Arabí Hippy Market and Las Dalias Hippy Market carry on the island's bohemian streak, and Benirràs Beach and Cova de Can Marçà reward the drive to the green north coast. Everything below is a place we have listed with photos and directions, so you can plan the route, not just the wishlist.

Things to Do in Ibiza: FAQ
What is Ibiza best known for besides clubbing?
Its beaches and history. Dalt Vila and the Puig des Molins Necropolis are part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and coves like Cala Comte, Cala Bassa and Cala d'Hort have some of the clearest water in the Mediterranean. The Punta Arabí and Las Dalias hippy markets reflect the island's bohemian past.
Where is the best place to watch the sunset in Ibiza?
The west coast. Cafe Del Mar and Café Mambo Ibiza on Sant Antoni's Sunset Strip are the classics, Sunset Cala Conta sits on the rocks at Cala Comte, and Torre des Savinar looks straight out at Es Vedrà. In the south, Experimental Beach Ibiza faces the sunset beside the salt flats.
Which Ibiza clubs should I go to?
It depends on the night you want. Hï Ibiza and UNVRS Ibiza are the big production clubs, Amnesia and Pacha Club Ibiza are the long-running institutions, DC-10 Ibiza is the underground favourite for Circoloco on Mondays, and Chinois Ibiza is the small, music-first option. Ushuaia runs open-air shows that finish around midnight.
When are the Ibiza hippy markets?
The Punta Arabí Hippy Market in Es Canar, the original from 1973, runs on Wednesdays, and Las Dalias Hippy Market near Sant Carles runs on Saturdays. Both operate from April to October, and Las Dalias adds night markets on selected summer evenings.
