A square in the old centre holding twenty-three outsized bronzes donated by Fernando Botero, who was born in Medellin — reclining women, a hand, a horse, a cat, all in his inflated style and all open to the air with no barrier between them and the street. The Museo de Antioquia sits on one side with a larger Botero collection indoors, and the Palacio de la Cultura's black-and-white Gothic bulk closes another. The square is busy and informal in daylight; it is not a place to linger after dark, and most visitors come down from El Poblado by metro to Parque Berrio.
