Located in the center of contemporary Athens, the Acropolis is a rocky mount that is topped by three beautiful temples that date back to the fifth century BC. The Parthenon is the most well-known however the other 2 are just as stunning. On the way up there is a nice ancient amphitheater as well. Be sure to check out the nearby Acropolis Museum which is beautifully curated and designed.
