Open on the waterfront since 1899 and run by the same family since. It is a gift shop at the front and a genuine cabinet of curiosities everywhere else: two mummies known as Sylvester and Sylvia, shrunken heads, a narwhal tusk, fleas in dresses, and a great deal of Alaskan and Northwest Native material of varying provenance. Free to walk through. It is the strangest half hour on Pier 54 and the oldest business of its kind still trading in the city.
