An eighteenth-century church attached to a former convent, and architecturally the most peculiar building in Querétaro: the exterior carries heavy inverted flying buttresses, scrolled and ornamented, that have no real parallel elsewhere in Mexico. Inside are gilded churrigueresque retablos, a pulpit inlaid with ivory and tortoiseshell, and an organ case of the same period. Much of the design is attributed to Eduardo Tresguerras. It is a few streets southwest of the main square and takes twenty minutes, which is poor value for how unusual it is.
